Sofa reeks of beach dogs and corn chips

Beach dogs, all wet and sandy, ready to head home for a snooze on the sofa

I know my couch stinks like wet, sandy dogs. I’ve needed to wash the cushion covers since before Thanksgiving. I could smell the accumulated wet fur and sand from outside. But then family arrived, we celebrated the holiday and there was no time for that level of house cleaning. So instead of pine and potpourri, this holiday is going to smell like corn chips.

The holiday weekend wound down, everyone went home, and I collapsed onto the couch thinking I’ll clean it after I rest a bit. But then it was time to get my nose repaired and I still hadn’t washed the cushion covers. It’ll be at least another week before I can safely exert the level of effort needed to wrestle the covers off and on again. But a great thing about  being anosmic (hopefully only temporarily) is that I don’t smell the funk anymore. In the case of my beach dog sofa, ignorance is bliss.
